The singers, Elena Xanthoudakis, Andrew Goodwin, Derek Welton just shone. The orchestra and Cantillation were awesome – coming together so beautifully under Antony Walker’s conducting. The design team Brad & Alex, direction by the very talented Mark Gaal, the production team … – everyone’s commitment to bringing the BEST possible musical experience to this opera was evident last night. And was acknowledged by the true judges - the audience.
Some of the emails from audience members this morning:-
"A triumph! Evidenced by the enthusiastic response of the audience; all our group were enthralled and agree that it is the best production yet. Please congratulate the artists crew musicians designers producers director and conductors and all involved. All the parts came together perfectly, music, singing, choreography, lighting, set, costumes, the full catastrophe! As Her Excellency said the other day no finer productions are staged anywhere in the world and Pinchgut deserves the highest accolades for this work.”
"Wonderful. I was completely blown away by the quality of your production and the amazing singers and musicians, more than once a year please!!! .....one of the most enjoyable evenings I've had at the Opera. I can't thank you guys enough, and my friend had a ball, she's a convert!
“Great night last night – love it. It gets better every year” (That’s a comment we get every year!)
