Today were the stage orchestral rehearsals before tomorrow’s final rehearsal - the General. We have a fabulous show on our hands! The music is stunning, and it’s incredible that this piece has never been performed in Australia. Elena, Andrew and Derek are really superb. Cantillation and the orchestra sound awesome. The set (left) is simply beautiful – the City Recital Hall has been transformed like never before. The direction, the staging - it really is all coming together.
Of course, I can say all this but it really does lie in the audience response. We had our first taste today when a few of our donors attended this afternoon’s rehearsal. One of them went down to the box office in the first little break and bought two more tickets so she could attend again. She knew once wasn’t going to do it for her.
